University of Oviedo: project with the company PHB-TSK for profiling stock piles by means of mmWave radars

The research group TSC-UNIOVI, which belongs to the Universidad de Oviedo (Gijón, Spain), is currently seeking a researcher to perform basic as well as applied research duties. Our group is consolidated in the Antennas and Propagation community with a sound publication record and several funding sources from public and private entities. Regarding the basic research duties to carry out, the topics are flexible depending on the candidate interests, though they should match the mmWave imaging and/or advance antenna measurement systems, developed by the research group. Regarding the applied research, you are expected to assist in a project with the company PHB-TSK for profiling stock piles by means of mmWave radars. You can see an overview of this project in the following video (automatic translation into English is available):



Your contract would be carried out through Fundación Universidad de Oviedo and its subsequent conditions (full-time, gross salary 26700€). 
Our labs are located in 
Escuela Politécnica de Ingeniería de Gijón .

The initial length of the contract is six months but it can be extended six extra months. Further extensions are possible depending on the available funding. In addition, interested candidates would have opportunities to applied for PhD student grants, whose length is four years, if he/she wishes to continue his/her PhD thesis on our group.


You would join our group as soon as possible. 


Candidates should have completed a Master degree with background on Antennas and Propagation or, at least, on radar or mmWave technology. Skills on other topics such as signal processing or sensor clouds are also valuable for the position. The candidates should be fluent in English, though basic Spanish will be useful for daily life.
