General information:

1. Position title: PhD Researcher in Ultra-MIMO Hybrid Analog–Digital Antenna Arrays for THz Networks

2. Research project: Next-generation THz wireless networks will require antenna arrays with an order of magnitude more elements (spaced at <λ/2) and dramatically larger physical apertures than today’s 5G MIMO systems. We call this new paradigm UltraMIMO (U-MIMO). This thesis will develop superdirective hybrid analog–digital UMIMO arrays, combining cutting-edge electromagnetic design, signal-processing techniques, and hardware prototyping to enable high-capacity, low-latency THz links.

3. Objectives: To design superdirective and electromagnetically large MIMO antenna arrays suitable for THz signaling.

4. PhD enrolment: The selected applicant will be enrolled into a Ph.D. program at Public University of Navarra (UPNA), under the supervision of Prof. Jorge Teniente (project PI for UPNA), while working on the project.

5. Location: ANTERAL offices in Pol. Areta, Calle Badostain 2, 2º, 31620 Huarte, Navarra, (Spain) (primary), Public University of Navarra (UPNA) (co-supervision).

6. Working Time: Full-time

7. Duration: Fixed-term (3 years)

8. Salary: In agreement with the MSCA-DN financial regulations, including living, mobility, and family allowances (https://ec.europa.eu/info/fundingtenders/opportunities/docs/2021-2027/horizon/wp-call/2023-2024/wp-2-mscaactions_horizon-2023-2024_en.pdf)

9. Secondment: ANT will spend a research stay of 4-6 months at another partner of the TeraWireless project.
