Marta Martínez-Vázquez was born in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, in 1973. She obtained her MSc. (1997) and PhD. (2003) in Telecommunication Engineering from the U.P. Valencia. Since 2000 she works at as senior engineer and project manager in the IMST Antennas and EM Modelling department.

She chairs the COST IC1102 Action VISTA. She has been member of the Executive Board of the ACE Network of Excellence and of the AdCom of the IEEE AP-S, and vice-chair of COST IC0603. She is in the Technical Advisory Panel for the AP Professional Network of IET and the IEEE AP-S Committees on "New Technology Directions" and "Education". She has also served as a Distinguished Lecturer for the IEEE AP-S.

She co-organises the course "Antenna Project Management" of the European School of Antennas (ESoA), and is involved in other courses of the same.

She is an Editor of the IEEE Antennas & Propagation Magazine, Associate Editor of IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters and member of the editorial board of Radioengineering. She received the 2004 Best Ph.D. award of the U.P. Valencia, and the 2013 IEEE AP-S Lot Shafai Mid-Career Distinguished Achievement Award.
